A Small Box with a Big Impact: Our Community’s Little Free Library

As you enter Veterans Beach Park, on the right, sits a simple red composite box filled with stories, imagination, and opportunity, our very own Little Free Library. While modest in size, this charming fixture represents something much larger: a shared commitment to community, literacy, and connection.

The concept is beautifully simple: take a book, leave a book. Whether you’re discovering a new author, passing along a favorite read, or introducing a child to the joy of storytelling, the Little Free Library is open to everyone, at any time. It’s a place where neighbors connect not just through conversation, but through the stories they share.

Over the past few weeks, we’ve seen a wonderful mix of books come and go: mysteries, cookbooks, children’s favorites, and everything in between. It’s become a small but meaningful stop for walkers, families, and curious readers of all ages.

To keep this special resource thriving, we’re asking for your help. If you have books at home that you’ve already enjoyed, please consider donating them to the library. We welcome both new and gently used books that are in good condition: novels, children’s books, nonfiction, and more. Your contribution could be the perfect next read for a neighbor.

By sharing books, we’re not just passing along pages, we’re building a stronger, more connected community. Thank you for helping keep our Little Free Library full of life, learning, and discovery.

If you have any questions or concerns, kindly email Maggie Loukatos, LFL Steward, at maglou19@yahoo.com

Happy reading!
