

Resident Beach Permits

Beach parking permits will arrive in mid February. You may pre-order online at the link below. They will also be on sale in the office, during regular business hours, starting Friday 20 February 2026.
Permits will only be sold online or at Veterans Memorial Park.
This page is only for resident purchases. Non-residents please purchase your permits by clicking here and going to the desired permit type.
What is New for 2026?
Resident Beach Permits will NOT be sold at Breakwater Beach or Peconic Bay Park.

For 2026 the Mattituck Park District has switched to hangtags.

They are to be hung from the center rearview mirror.

Allows beach attendants at any park to easily see the hangtag when you stop your vehicle at the booth.
The license plate number on the hangtag must match the car.

What You Need to Know:

You may purchase beach permits online or in person.

A license plate number is required for each permit.

A maximum of four (4) beach permits per household is allowed; permits remain $25 each.

Online purchases will be reviewed for eligibility and mailed to the address on file. Online purchase is the quickest way to purchase.
How much does a Resident Beach Permit cost?
The annual cost for a permit is $25.
Who Qualifies to Purchase a Resident Beach Permit?
A resident is defined as a Mattituck/Laurel homeowner or a year-round renter. Residency can be verified with a Mattituck or Laurel property tax bill, a driver's license or car registration showing a Mattituck or Laurel address, a different type of government ID that matches the property tax roll, a voter registration card, or a year-round lease.
How long is the Beach Permit good for?
A Resident Beach Permit is good for the entire calendar year.
Where Can I Purchase a Permit?
If you own your Mattituck or Laurel property through a trust, LLC or corporation, or co-own with family members, you must purchase your permit in the office during business hours. Please contact the office for further assistance.

​Otherwise, you can buy your Resident Beach Permit three ways:

Online at the button below using a credit card. After verifying your ownership or residency by checking your information against the property tax roll, we will mail you the permit. You may be asked to provide legal proof of a relationship to the property if your name is not on the tax roll.

You may purchase a permit in the office, using cash, check or credit card. Our current business hours are listed below.

On Saturdays during from Memorial Day to mid August, between the hours of 10AM and 3PM, you can also purchase a Resident Beach Permit in the office of Veterans Memorial Park. You will go with the Beach Attendant into the office to verify ownership or residency and complete the transaction. For proof of ownership, please provide a government ID which matches the name on the tax roll. For proof of residency, please provide a license, registration, voter card, or an annual lease with a Mattituck or Laurel address.
